Description
Passive: After using an ability, your next two basic attacks on-hit within 10 seconds are enchanted. If the attack is used against a champion, you gain 5 Gold . Occasionally, you will gain a consumable item instead. If you gain a consumable item while your inventory is full, the consumable will instead be consumed.

Kleptomancy used to apply through abilities that apply on-hit effects.
Kleptomancy behaved similarly to, and stacked with, Spellblade items ( ).
After 20 minutes, Kleptomancy didn't loot Pilfered Stealth Ward, Peering Farsight Ward, or Control Ward.
If you received a ward with Kleptomancy ( Pilfered Stealth Ward, Peering Farsight Ward, or Control Ward) while your inventory was full, the ward would instead be placed on top of an enemy champion.
If you had the rune Biscuit Delivery, Total Biscuits of Everlasting Will obtained with Kleptomancy would have increased your maximum mana when it was consumed or sold.
Without Biscuit Delivery, Biscuits would not increase maximum mana when they were consumed or sold.
Elixir of Skill did not allow you to gain skill points beyond your champion's maximum, which is 18 for all champions except for Udyr.
The additional skill point was granted only if it was used before level 18, including on Udyr.
Tests had shown that Mana Potions used to be substituted with Sly Sack of Gold on manaless champions, rather than being removed from loot table.
For melee champions, before the 15 minute mark, the probability to loot a consumable with Kleptomancy had been estimated to be about 25%. After the 15 minute mark, this probability had been estimated to be about 58%.[1]
Strategy[]
Kleptomancy's usage depended on the champion's abilities:
It was great on low-cooldown on-hit abilities (e.g. Ezreal's Mystic Shot, Fiora's Lunge, Gangplank's Parrrley, Miss Fortune's Double Up, Yasuo's Steel Tempest).
It was good on a low-cooldown enhanced attack (e.g. Garen's Decisive Strike, Illaoi's Harsh Lesson, Nasus' Siphoning Strike, Vayne's Tumble, Wukong's Crushing Blow, Xin Zhao's Three Talon Strike, Yorick's Last Rites).
It was decent on low-cooldown abilities which encourage basic attacking (e.g. Jayce's Hammer and Cannon Transforms, Skarner's Crystal Slash, Sona's Hymn of Valor, Viktor's Siphon Power).
Trivia[]
On Ascension, Kleptomancy was exchanged with Glacial Augment.
Kleptomancy granted a set of items that were, for the most part, a weaker version of an existing item.
